Loon Lake Plaid Shirt
Red-and-black buffalo check has made a comeback lately, but for many years it was essentially part of the uniform of backwoods professionals, legendary Maine guides in particular. A proud bunch they are, handy with fly rod and paddle and known for their dry sense of humor. (A hunting party gets hopelessly lost in the woods. Angry client to guide: “I thought you said you were the best guide in Maine!” Guide: “Oh, I am. But we’re in Canada now.”) As you might expect, we’ve put our own holiday-forward twist on this classic plaid, substituting a deep wine-red for traditional black and adding a thread of faded bronze into the mix. We’ve also done the shirt in a wool-viscose blend for extra softness. With faux-horn buttons and a pen slot in the wearer’s left chest pocket. Classic fit. 60% wool, 40% viscose. Dry clean only. Imported.
